The two questions we get asked most about the PTE are "how much does it cost?" and "how do I register?" Before anything else, one thing needs to be clear: there are two different costs — (1) the exam fee, which you pay to Pearson, and (2) the coaching fee, which you pay to an institute to prepare you. Below, both are explained separately.
1) The exam fee — paid to Pearson
To sit PTE Academic or PTE Core you pay Pearson a set fee. Pearson decides this fee and it is USD-based, so the taka amount moves with the exchange rate and the fee itself changes from time to time.
Two things worth remembering: booking late can cost more, and a re-take means paying the full fee again. So it pays to prepare properly and aim for your target score the first time. And if you feel your result came out lower than you deserved, read our PTE Rescore guide before booking a re-take — it is often the cheaper route.
2) The coaching fee — CILL's courses
Preparation is a separate cost from the exam itself. Every CILL course below includes unlimited mock assessment and sessions conducted personally by Syed Wasi:
| Course | Fee |
|---|---|
| PTE 2-Month Regular | ৳14,000 online · ৳16,000 offline |
| Evening PTE Batch | ৳13,000 |
| PTE Power Batch | ৳12,000 |
| One-on-One Coaching | from ৳25,000 |
| Full Membership (for weaker English, unlimited duration) | ৳26,000 |

PTE test centres in Dhaka
There are Pearson-authorised test centres in Dhaka, so you do not need to travel abroad to sit the exam. When you book, pearsonpte.com will show you the nearest available centre and the open dates — you choose from there. The same account is later used for your result, a re-take, or sending your score to institutions.
Registering alone won't get you the score
Paying the fee and booking a date does not produce a good result — that takes the right skills and strategy. Doing well on your first attempt also saves you an entire re-take fee, which is real money. Start here: 🇧🇩 PTE কি — full guide · PTE exam pattern · How to score 79+ · PTE vs IELTS
Frequently asked questions
How much does the PTE exam cost in Bangladesh?
The PTE Academic fee is currently around $220 USD. Pearson sets it and can change it at any time, and because it is USD-based the taka amount moves with the exchange rate — always confirm the exact current amount on pearsonpte.com when you book.
Where do I register for the PTE exam?
On Pearson's official site, pearsonpte.com — create an account, choose PTE Academic (or Core), select a Dhaka test centre and date, then pay online by card.
Is there a PTE test centre in Dhaka?
Yes. Dhaka has Pearson-authorised test centres, so you don't need to travel abroad. Booking on pearsonpte.com shows you the nearest available centre and dates.
What do I need to bring on exam day?
A valid passport — that is the only accepted ID. Arrive at the centre early.
Is the exam fee different from the coaching fee?
Yes, completely separate. The exam fee goes to Pearson so you can sit the test; the coaching fee goes to an institute to prepare you. CILL's PTE 2-Month course, for example, is ৳14,000 online / ৳16,000 offline.
Do I pay the full fee again for a re-take?
Yes — a re-take costs the full exam fee again, and late booking can cost more. That's why preparing properly for the first attempt is worth it. If you think your score was unfairly low, consider a rescore before re-booking.
